What is that magic we experience when holding a newborn baby? Is it their unfiltered curiosity and purity? Their closeness to the divine? Or our overwhelming urge to protect and nurture them? The list of mystical and emotional explanations for this phenomenon are infinite. However, on a chemical level we are experiencing the effects of a special bonding hormone called Oxytocin. It’s responsible for a mother’s lactation response as well as some pretty incredible sensations of love during connection with an infant!
And science is now discovering that many other pleasurable activities also boost this bonding hormone. This is important because when we train our bodies to release Oxytocin, we have more energy to viscerally bond with our purpose, our creative “infant.” Turns out that for women, it actually pays to mix business with pleasure!
So what activities do you luxuriate in? What things do you absolutely love to do and feel? Think sensory pleasure - soft fabrics, soothing music, candles, light touch, shared meals, and anything else that puts your mind and body at ease (yes, hugs and kisses are fantastic ways to boost Oxytocin, too!). This might sound like a love scene on a movie set, and yet you don’t need a partner to increase Oxytocin! This is you loving you in your essence!
BraveHeart Everyday Tip:
Commit to small daily acts of pleasure with soulfulness, and experience an increase in the energy you require to be in service to the visionary within you and therefore your vision!
