I started including sun salutations in my morning routine. Feeling stiff and weak on the first day, I was out of breath after the first four (two on each side). I am gradually increasing how many I do and decided I wanted a counter to keep track of the number of repetitions. At this time my focus is on awareness of my body, my breath and ease in the flow of my movements. Sometimes between plank and down dog I was so focused on the moment. I was forgetting which leg I started with. I wanted a counter that would bring a smile to my face. Looking around I found a beloved childhood toy I still enjoy with my granddaughters: pick up sticks! And what container to hold them? A little glass bottle that I brought back from Japan because it reminds me of !the beauty in simplicity! The bottle originally had a Korean Ginseng drink I enjoyed in Tokyo. Now the bottle again offers me energy and health as part of my daily yoga! And loving the Earth by repurposing!
