Connecting to the Divine
Talking to God through payer and what qualifies as prayer-
Let’s discuss how we communicate with the Divine. The most obvious response here would be prayer. But prayer is a dynamic tool that can morph into many things. Can we watch the amazing colors of the evening sky and simply be in the colors? Is that a prayer? Can we take a mental snap shot of a beautiful field of flowers and send it like a metaphysical letter to a friend? Is that a prayer? Can we arrange our time so that we have quiet moments in which to reflect? Is that a form of prayer? There are so many ways to pray, traditional and non-traditional. Any of which are good ways to talk to God. Here are a few more ways to connect:
Nature: Connect with the Divine through spending time in nature. Walking in the woods or at the beach, talking with a friend or just being quiet is a form of prayer. Look at a beautiful flower. Swim in an Ocean or lake. Put your feet in a stream. Let the wind blow on you a little. Let it blow away your troubles as you strengthen your connection with the Divine.
Practice self-care- Imagine if you cared for yourself with as much energy as you care for others? Would you be stronger? Would you be happier? The only person who can shift that dynamic is you. Say no to things that harm your spirit and psyche and say yes to the things that make you feel alive and the things that bring you peaceful contentment.
Create Sacred Space- Regardless of where you spend time, create tiny altars wherever you are. Place some symbolic items right where you will see them when you are in that space. This is like sending a stream of prayer continuously to your subconscious mind and will have an energy shifting effect on the environment.
Celebrate Beauty Look at or make beautiful things. No time? No space? Make a pinterest page of beautiful things that are meaningful to you. Make a secret list each day of all the beautiful things you saw. Have fun with it, make a craft or paint a picture. Or look at one of the great masters in painting each day.
Do something good for someone- This is my favorite form of prayer. A kind word, a helpful hand, taking time to stop and listen…it does not have to be fancy for it to be a genuine prayerful act.
Forgiveness- Forgiveness is a form of prayer. Forgive one person a day for 30 days and see what happens.
Speaking with your Angels- Yes! Speaking with your Angels, interacting with your Angels is a way of staying engaged with the Divine. How great is that- bet you did not know that you were praying so much!
