There are many labyrinth shapes to choose as a journey to the center of your deepest self and back out into the world. I found a picture of a simple design I could duplicate. A friend posted she was removing rocks from her culvert and was giving them away. I picked up 2 trunk loads and brought them home. My husband and helpers picked up another pile. Choosing a west to east orientation which symbolizes walking from darkness to light, I laid out the 12 X 12 feet dimensions using 19 inches for the walkway. I cleared the inside of vegetation and covered it with weed block fabric. Placing selected rocks for the four directions on the outside, I outlined the inside path with a few rocks until all the dimensions fell into place. I picked up 16 buckets of crushed rocks to spread between the rocks. The labyrinth was complete.
I love starting my morning walking the labyrinth, and allowing an oxytocin breath with my prayers of gratitude in the center. I open to blossoming and the day begins.
