How many times have we heard the metaphor about the onion? How we must peel away at the onion one layer at a time to find the ultimate truth of who we are? It's time to do away with the onion and bring in the metaphor of the tree.
Today as I was hugging a tree and asking it for wisdom, I received a vision and a download. What I saw was many rings, like the rings on a tree. What I received was that we are like trees, not onions. Every year the tree adds another ring. Every ring is everything that tree withstood in that year. All the tribulations, the storms, the cold, the rain, the heat, the lightning, the dark, the light, etc. We are not peeling the layers; we are adding the layers. Each layer is another layer of wisdom, of growth. Each layer makes the tree stronger, straighter, more erect. With each layer the roots grow longer and stronger, and more abundant into Mother Earth, its nurturer. With each layer the branches grow longer and stronger, and more abundant up into the Sky reaching up to Source, the Higher Self, the Creator of All that Is.
Each layer IS the truth of who we are. This is the journey. We are who we are today because of each ring. Every ring adds to who we are. We don't need to peel off the layers. There would have been no purpose in coming to this planet! That would be like crawling back into our mother's womb when we are done peeling.
When the tree has reached its highest potential, born its fruit, and has finished what it came here to do, it falls down, crumbles, and nourishes all the younger trees all around it for a long time to come, and it's very life is reborn into new baby trees springing up from its fallen trunk.
Hmmm. Maybe that's why Jesus is the Tree of Life? not the onion of life.
