When was the last time you felt truly rejuvenated and energized? What made you feel that way?
Double L and I started out early that Sunday morning. The plan: breakfast at Panera, a trek across the Brooklyn Bridge through Lower Manhattan, and on to the first showing of Grandma at the Angelika Theater.
The weather was all blue skies and sunshine. There were quite a few people walking the bridge with it's a great day in New York grins.
My spirit elevated to natural high level. We stopped for several photo opps. My favorite? The "arms" of the lighting fixtures on the bridge decorated with locks, hair scrunchies, etc. bridge walkers left to mark their crossings. I also included a few snaps I took walking through Soho. The White Street Restaurant is a perfect example of classic cast iron. The classic Mercedes two-seater in red is my dream car. I just have to learn to drive, and win the lottery **wink wink
A comfy bench was waiting for us just outside City Hall Park. After a bit of a rest and a cigar, we forged ahead through Lower Manhattan, TriBeCa & SoHo to the Angelika, where we celebrated with a double feature: Grandma & Learning to Drive.
I couldn't wait to tell the young lady at the concession stand that we had walked to the theater from Brooklyn. She gave us a look of true respect and quipped;'"I cry when I have to ride my bicycle over from the Village."
Can I tell you I could have walked to Brooklyn and back again.
