"When you are alive with joy, gratitude, and genuine interest in others, you are your most beautiful. Remember that. Now go stun the world." Brendon Burchard
When you listen to the news media, you see a fragile world of war, climate changes that threaten our survival, diseases like Ebola killing thousands. You can choose to get bogged down in the negativity and feel that nothing matters, so why try. Or you can choose to live your life from a place of joy, gratitude and genuine interest in others. You can choose to be a game changer.
The beginning of living this kind of life is in your imagination. Instead of imagining all of the worlds troubles becoming larger, why not look at how the world is also changing into something more powerful than it has ever been. The power of women is rising as we see so many women's groups forming to change the world into a better place. The power of the internet to connect us around the world has connected us together through so many wonderful organizations, that we have cut global poverty in half. Think about that - WOW. What else is possible?
What we know is that nothing happens in isolation, that everything in the universe is interrelated. Everything that we look at changes, just by the fact that we are looking at it makes it change. We are changing constantly. How we change is up to us. Every new minute is a chance to change into a better person, into a game changer.
We are all constantly poised on the knife edge, between our deepest dreams and our oldest fears. Every time we grow and expand, those fears try to pull us back into the comfort zone. We have the choice to rise to this moment in time, or to retreat in failure. The choice to do what you love, and to not stop until you get what you love. The choice to be a game changer.
Compromise is a waste of time, effort, and only delays or even worse ends your dreams. Instead of compromise look to creativity which is a combination of courage and inventiveness. You need both. You need the concept of WEIP "what else is possible".
Just as the news media trumpets doom and gloom, it can also inspires us.Thousands of people "the game changers in this world," who put our hands up to risk our lives on the front line of the Ebola fight. And the millions of us who took action to protect our oceans and defeat a Monsanto mega-project. There are websites like "The Upworthiest" and "Soulpancake" which highlight positive things that are happening in our world.
A Soul Pancake Video that asked the question "what's stopping you from achieving your goals?" The most common answer was not time, or money, or education, or any of the things that you might list off the top of your head to release in a DYBO class. It was "FEAR". They featured several people who talked about what they did to blast past the fears. My favorite line was "I am creating the world that I want to live in." That is the spirit of a game changer.
Madeleine L’Engle stated that "Your intuition and your intellect should be working together… making love. That’s how it works best." That is how we can bring hope to ourselves and our world. And hope can the game changer when the intention is not only for us to rise up, but how we can put out our hands and help others to rise up too. This kind of hope is not of a negative vibration that says maybe - it is of a positive vibration that says "YES" because it isn't just about me, it is about us. And for "US" we can all be a game changer.
We are truly on the precipice of a new women’s movement that is going to shift the world into a new era. As women, we think and act differently. We don’t want to just accomplish goals like a checklist of achievements. We want to actualize our higher creative and spiritual potentials. We recognize that we have a personal purpose, a professional purpose and a global purpose and that we don't compromise and leave any of them behind in the pursuit of one of them.
We are not seeking power like it is in the world today. We want to shape the world into what it can be. As Arianna Huffington so eloquently says: “Live for your eulogy, not your resume.” We’re going to be remembered for the ways we showed up for ourselves and for others. How we used our courage, how we expressed our gifts, how we gave beyond reason, loved without limits, and moved forward with our dreams in spite of our fears. As Rainer Maria Rilke stated, “And now we welcome the new year, full of things that have never been.”
We are not playing the game of fame and fortune, we are changing the game. We are not just breaking the rules of the game, we are creating a new world out of our imagination of what else is possible. Where everything shifts into a whole new game. Now go stun the world!
