I want to share a short but warm and fuzzy story with all of you that I think you will enjoy.

While at Dr. Sugar's retreat in Pagosa Springs,CO. this weekend we were all given beautiful roses. One of my Braveheart sisters, Lisa, suggested passing on the love that a rose represents to someone who could enjoy it's beauty.

When I arrived at the airport the woman who checked my bags commented on how pretty my roses were. I asked if she would like to have them and her smile and eyes said yes. I gave them to her and I left the desk with a smile as well.

I arrived at the Chicago airport a few hours later where I met my daughter. We were walking to the ground transportation area to purchase a pass to board the train into the city. I was reaching for purse and a young man with a huge smile asked me if I would like 2 passes that were good for the next 36 hours. (the exact mount of time that we needed) I was taken by surprise but I graciously accepted.

Both acts where of the small variety but big on the warmth that was felt by all.

Do you agree that it feels just as good to receive as it does to give?

Pawsitively yours,

Audie

It was such a joy connecting with all of my "OLD" BraveHeart sisters over the weekend at the retreat.
And what an amazing opportunity to meet and connect on such a deep level with all the new women who are now our "NEW" BraveHeart Sisters.

You are Awesome!

Audie,
A couple of retreats ago, I had this thought that I should purchase roses for every woman's room. However, I forgot to tell Lisa - about my great idea and forgot to ask her to purchase the roses.

On the morning of the retreat, I called her at the LAST minute as we were all leaving town to head up to Pagosa and I said - - "You must stop at the store and buy 2 dozen red roses for all of our ladies - red roses have a very high vibration - are a symbol of love - and give off oxygen which will rejuvenate our wonderful guests..." as I was talking to Lisa - I could feel an energy shift over the phone line and asked her "what...why are you crying..."

and her reply "Dr. Sugar - you just gave me goosebumps - when I was at the story yesterday purchasing all the supplies for the retreat - something told me I should buy roses - there are 2 dozen roses in the back of the car - I didn't know why I bought them - just seemed like the right thing to do..."

Since then - a gift of personal roses for all the woman is part of the extra care that we give to all of our guests! I am so glad you enjoyed the gift and then passed on the gift. There is so much joy in giving!

With Love, Wellness and Compassion,
Dr. Sugar

Hello to all of my BraveHeart Sisters,

I really enjoyed reading your comments, it seems that the roses are still continuing to shower me with love....and I am open to receiving.

Pawsitively yours,

Audie
Love your story and I couldn't agree with you more about how good it feels to give and equally how good it feels to receive. It seems that people who can't handle the receiving part may just be feeling they aren't worthy - which would not be the case if they did more giving, most likely!
That was beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing it. Linda, I also appreciated being reminded of the quote about random acts of kindness. You never know, how the roses you gave away may have affected the one who received them. They may have changed her life in some way you will never know. Audie, Thank you for being you.
Audie,

Roses and unconditional love. Giving and receiving. The universe responds. Thank you for being You!

Love and light,
Cheryl
Dear Audie,

Your story reminds me of a phrase...and it represents exactly what you did and what you received.

Practice Random Acts of Kindness...:-x

Hi, Audie,

As a witness to your kindness at the airport, I could see the surprise and gratitude felt by the women behind the counter. It certainly changed the routine of their day.

I am still wondering what ever happened to the rose that I "lost" between the inside of the airport and the plane. I know it blessed someone too...

With unconditional love, compassion and empowerment,

Amelia
Audie,

Excellent! Thank you for sharing, the roses definitely drew people to us all. But I'm certain that our level of energy helped also!

I stood in the customer service line in Denver, and the line was about 45 min long. I had my rose hanging out of the side of my purse, I sang and I danced right in my place. Finally a guy who was close by asked, "does that really help?" I shouted, "YES!" .... we turned the next corner in the line and he asked me, "how did that song go again?"

You see, they may have thought I was nuts :^O But they were all witnessing that I was happy, and not letting the circumstance bring me down.

With Love and Gratitude to you Audie~

How fabulous Audie :-x from the beginning to the ending. Give and it shall return. Though I am reminded of one of Ellie Drake's Daily Reminders in the Art of Ease-ology:

Fair Exchange

The Universe gives. I am now open to receiving the abundant resources available within the Universe. I am also open to giving for the sake of giving. I now trust that the exchange is really between the giver and the Universe and not between the giver and the receiver.

Dear Audie,

I believe nothing is lost in the Universe (ok, maybe except my boys socks ;)) and if we are open enough to give without fear, we will discover that there is a natural synergy between giving and receiving.

When we do- it really feels GREAT! :-x
