      Sushila MThe Power of Peace
January 21st 2017 was a significant day in my life and in the history of the United States of America. Millions of people united to walk together peacefully on the same day through the streets of America and around the world. The experience and photos afterwards uplifted my hope and faith that people can express themselves without violence.

I almost didn't go: fear of violence, snow, rain, lack of enthusiasm for the world, questioning the purpose and value of a women's march, did that in the seventies and we still don't have the ERA. I woke up Saturday to a clear day. No excuse around weather. I can do this. I am walking for peace in our nation, world, between women, and within me. I boarded the bus with 55 women to Sacramento.

Downtown the people were swarming like ants around sugar. There were pink hats everywhere - on women, men, and children. Some people dressed in costumes. Many carried signs expressing themselves with words. We joined the mass of marchers and began talking to individuals. United in purpose, we were no longer strangers. Labels, boxes and barriers were taken down. “Can I take a picture of your sign?” “Where are you from?” As we walked, observers on the sidewalk stepped into the street to join us. We chanted “love not hate makes America great.”

I had brought a U.S. Department of Peacebuilding banner and needed a second person to hold it up. A woman I did not know volunteered for awhile, then decided she wanted to march with her family and the sign was slowing her down. A young man stepped up to replace her. It was his first march and he had never heard of the movement for the Department of Peacebuilding. He was a joy to walk with.

From my own observations of the 20 to 30,000 people, I enjoyed the diversity of the group: parents and children, teens, and all the ages including the elders, people in wheelchairs, different races, and nationalities, all walking tog ...

      • Sushila Mall walking together peacefully. My heart was wide open. I could feel the level of sadness lifting into connection and hope. Everyone I talked to was friendly and present.
I listened to an elder from Standing Rock telling the story of the veterans taking a stand. They walked up to the armed police and offered their lives to protect the First Nation people. No one was killed that day. No violence occurred. A statement was made -We will die before we let you harm these people. I cried. I got the meaning of Courage. And yet it wasn't one person; it was the power of one plus one plus one plus one and the unity of people standing peacefully in their power for the protection of water, their rights, and for each other.
Could I be that brave? Standing together I might be. Only time will tell.11 hours ago

      • AdrienneI will join you in this -Tomorrow we get to work. We make the important phone calls, write the letters, engage our elected officials, hold them accountable. They represent us, and that means all of us.We cannot and must not become complacent, resting on the not-inconsiderable laurels of today.

I am already planning to add a block of time every day to phone the offices of my representatives, to continue learning about nonviolent protest and communication, and to begin learning what it takes to get involved in government myself, beginning at the local level.

And yes please hold me accountable especially if you hear me complain.22 hours ago

      Hello BraveHeart Sisters,

Each year around the time of the spring and fall equinoxes, in March and September, we celebrate balance within and between us with Harmony Circles Around the World.

We invite you to participate in Global Harmony Days. Choose to host or join a circle near you. If you are called to participate please declare your intentions in this group and BraveHeart sisters will assist and support you creating your Global Harmony Days.

BraveHeart Women's Harmony Circles are drawing women out of the shadow of our evolutionary programming, and allowing us to shine our light within and between other women as we blossom into our purpose together.

At a Harmony Circle, women connect and bond in a whole new way based on oxytocin. Oxytocin allows you to Be more, Create more and Collaborate more with ease and less stress.

        • AdrienneJust wondering if you marched Irina. A lot women on this platform have been involved bringing Harmony Circles to their communities, traveling to other countries to be with women from different faiths, points of views etc. Now I know there is much more to feel into and take action. I do feel if we want to make any change its begins inside and travels with us always.19 hours ago

        • IrinaThere is a natural yearning for community, collaboration, being part of something big and „significant“, a longing to be „good“ and work and march for something “good”.

We can see this goodwill being (mis-)used and instrumentalized in various areas nowadays!

So I get educated as much as I can before I march, asking questions like:
          Who initiated it?
Who uses this movement right her and now and what for?
          Who pays for it?
What secretly motivates me? wanting approval? wanting feeling important? wanting to bathe in collective emotions feeling alive and strong, save and in control as part of a crowd?
Would I march if I was the only one?

No, Adrienne, I did not march there!9 hours ago

        • AdrienneGreat questions to ask oneself. And yes anything can be mis-used. When I was living in Belfast the Peace Movement was not always what it said it was, so I can get stuck on that or I can come open, ready to learn, to listen asking my inner self is this mine to do and what are my steps you would have me do now. 2 hours ago

Tears of overwhelm and love today. I have stepped into my power and I feel my lionness voice! Celebrating!!!! I can physically feel it and it is aligned with Women in Business - the truth, the awakening and the serenity of true power. I am rolling into moments of bliss and tears of relief - letting go of old beliefs that held me prisoner. The only way to this point was through Braveheart training (retraining) and community. I am pleased to be putting together 'Mummy school' - I cant find a better name right now - but I am addressing the void from leaving school where we are treated like sheep, learning things that won't help us in any way, conforming to dress codes etc then we become mums and quite frankly I just see women falling part, deep depression - I don't know what to do ... it's so unfair... my kids are crazy and won't listen or behave - I want to say to them - ladies 'grow up', blossom and allow yourself to do what you need to do .... be beautiful inside and allow your children to thrive......

        • MarshaLeslie, kudos to you! By all that is holy, all that is good, shine your light! Claim the lioness within and let your roar out - open up Mommy School! Every milestone we accomplish to reclaiming our true/higher selves as a cause for celebration. I had a similar conversation with a fellow Usher earlier this afternoon, how important it is for us to awake to our call for greatness. Here's a video that came back to me while reading your post. Enjoy, tap your foot and bring that lioness forth! :-) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CevxZvSJLk8

        • LesleyLoving you Marsha - I love the video - last night I sat for 2 hours reading int using the four elements of earth, fire, air and water to balance your body and build your business so I loved that the video was in a jungle - Univesal Confirmation that I am aligned inside and ready to take it outside ... Also I have heard that song so manyt times but never listened to the words - goosebumps!! so appropriate right now, today .... thank you Marsha. Love Us.1 day ago

        • MarshaYou are most welcome Lesley. Sharing your journey with us encourages me as i continue my journey to claiming my own Path. It was considering the changes I'm making to strengthen my Brave Heart & announce myself to the world in the last week when that song soared up in my spirit and again listening to you. It is indeed confirmation. Yes to Us and the fulfillment of our Paths!
What's the material you were reading about using the four elements?
