Sometimes is best to leave well enough alone. So one must make sure that something is wrong with the now you before trying to change. We don't want to spoil an already good you just by trying to improve.
In trying too hard to get to know an already good friend, we might discover something not so nice. So while there is always room for improvement, a good person should not try to reach much higher than the arm can stretch. I happen to like myself just the way I am. The best I can do now is be the kind a person a lot of people can like, never mind love.
